To Barcelona

Tonight I'm taking the sleeper train to Barcelona. I'll arrive at 09:27.

Still working out whether to book a hostel (by phone not online, I can't find a PC secure enough to use my credit card) or just turn up and ask the local Tourist Info to put me somewhere. It's not a dangerous choice - at worst I'll either have to pay extra for a hotel or stay in a nearby town.

I'm enjoying the 15th-16th century buildings, but I'm about reaching my fill of them. I still want to see Carcassonne*, but won't be going out of my way to see more before then.

The lack of secure PCs is getting annoying. It's getting to the point that I want my own laptop with me, an option that I declined for both security and weight.

* Note to pedants - I know Carcassonne is earlier.

We're back.
Hi Steve
We had a great time, the snow was good but won't last much longer. Three english skiing couples in hotel and we were the youngest. Also about 15 french adults and as many children, teens to 7ish. Neighbours who go off for a week together each year. Could they talk!
My italian was usually rescued by a kind italiano speaking english. Very depressing!
Dad is skiing better than ever, tried some movies, but standard shots disappointing.
Don't recommend Turin airport at 10am on Sundays at the moment. Passport control queue was right across the concourse, after you'd spent 1/2hr queueing for check-in.

Hi Steve,

You should have taken a S60 phone with you with WLAN enabled. That would solve your secure PC woes ;-)

Glad to hear your travels are going well, we are reading your blog with interest & envy especially as the predicted torrential rain and concrete sky has set in.

All the best
